Kot pantolon

Kot pantolon, kot kumaşından yapılan pantolondur. Günümüzdeki kullanım şekliyle kot pantolon 1871 yılında ve ortaklığıyla icat edilmiş, patenti de 1873'te Davis ve Levi Strauss tarafından alınmıştır. Bununla beraber, mavi renkli kot kumaşından yapılan pantolonlar bu tasarımın patentlenmesinden önce de kullanılmaktaydı.

Başlangıçta madenciler için tasarlanan modern kot pantolonlar, Marlon Brando ve James Dean tarafından 1950'lerin filmlerinde, özellikle de ve Asi Gençlik filmlerinde gündelik giyim olarak popüler hale geldi. Kot ceket ve kot tayt ile birlikte gençler arasında, özellikle de birçok alt kültürün üyeleri arasında bir isyan sembolü haline geldi. 1960'lardan itibaren, çeşitli gençlik alt kültürleri ve nüfusun genç üyeleri arasında yaygınlaştı.
