Proteroctopus ribeti, yaklaşık 164 milyon yıl önce Orta Jura'da yaşamış olan ilkel bir ahtapottur. Bu türe tahsis edilen tek fosil örneği Fransa'daki 'den gelmektedir. Şu anda Musée de Paléontologie de La Voulte-sur-Rhône'de sergilenmektedir.
