Yaşamı ve kariyeri

Ackland, 29 Şubat 1928'de Londra, İngiltere'de doğdu. Merkezi Konuşma ve Drama Okulu ile Londra'daki Kraliyet Albert Salonu'nda oyunculuk eğitimi gördü. 1949'da başladığı oyunculuk kariyerini 2014 yılına kadar sürdürdü. 130 civarında sinema filmi ve TV projesinde yer aldı. Jock Delves Broughton rolünde yer aldığı 1987 yapımı White Mischief adlı filmdeki performansıyla "En İyi Yardımcı Erkek Oyuncu" dalında BAFTA Ödülü'ne aday gösterildi. Yer aldığı diğer bazı yapımlar arasında; Watership Down (1978), Lethal Weapon 2 (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990) ve Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991) sayılabilir.
