Enformasyon Sanatı ('data sanatı' ya da 'enformatizm' ) elektronik sanatı'ndan yeni gelişen bilgisayar bilimi, bilişim teknolojisi ve ayrıca klasik sanat dalları performans sanatı, görsel sanat, yeni medya sanatı, kavramsal sanat gibi alanları sentezleyen bir sanat dalıdır. Enformasyon Sanatı, genellikle büyük çapta bilgi işleyerek sanatsal içerik üreten bilgisayarlarla etkileşim halindedir.

Tarihçe

Enformatizm'in, Kynaston McShine tarafından 1970 yılında Museum of Modern Art'ta düzenlenen Enformasyon adlı sergi ile başladığı kabul edilir.^[] O dönemde Birleşik Devletler'de yükselen bir eğilim olan kavramsal sanat ile eş zamanlı olarak ortaya çıkmıştır.

Sanatsal Uygulama

Enformasyon sanatı bilgi havuzu fotoğraflar, nüfus sayımı, mikro ödeme, kişisel profil ve ifadeler, video kayıtları, arama motoru sonuçları, dijital resimcilik, şebeke sinyalleri ve düzyazılar tarafından oluşturulur.
