19 Eylül 1921'de Birmingham'da doğan Berners-Lee kendisi gibi matematikçi ve bilgisayar mühendisi olan ile evli olup 4 çocuk sahibidir. Çocuklarından bir tanesi "World Wide Web"in mucidi olan bilim insanı Tim Berners-Lee'dir.

Aktif kariyerini 1986'da sonlandırıp köşesine çekilen İngiliz matematikçi ve bilgisayar mühendisi Conway Berners-Lee 1 Şubat 2019'da 97 yaşında ölmüştür.
