Dame Marina Sarah Warner (d. 9 Kasım 1946), İngiliz romancı, kısa öykü yazarı, tarihçi ve mitograf. Feminizm ve mitolojiye ilişkin pek çok kurgu kitapları ile tanınmaktadır. , , Sunday Times, The Telegraph ve Vogue gibi pek çok yerde yazılar yazdı. Birçok üniversitenin fakültelerinde dersler verdi ve misafir öğretim üyesi olarak görev yaptı.

2014'te Essex Üniversitesi'nde Edebiyat, Sinema ve Tiyatro Çalışmaları Bölümü'ndeki profesörlük görevinden istifa etti ve İngiltere'deki "kâr amacı gütmeyen iş modeli" üniversitelerine yönelik hareketleri sertçe eleştirdi. 2017'de (RSL) başkanlığına seçildi ve RSL'nin kuruluşu 1820'den bu yana bir kadın ilk kez bu görevi seçilmiş oldu.
İlk yılları
Marina Warner, İngiliz bir baba ve İtalyan annenin çocuğu olarak Londra'da doğdu. Babasının dedesi İngiliz kriketçisi 'dır. Kahire, Brüksel ve Berkshire, İngiltere'de büyüdü. St Mary's School, Ascot'ta okudu. Oxford'daki Lady Margaret Hall'da Fransızca ve İtalyanca eğitimi aldı. 1971'de 'la evlendi ve bu evliliğinden adında bir oğlu oldu. Çift 1980'de boşandı.
Kariyeri
İlk kitabı The Dragon Empress: The Life and Times of Tz'u-hsi, Empress Dowager of China, 1835–1908, 1972'de yayımlandı ve ardından 1976'da Roma Katolik Meryem'in azizliğine ilişkin bir çalışma olan Alone of All Her Sex: The Myth and the Cult of the Virgin Mary piyasaya sunuldu. Warner'ın The Lost Father romanı 1988'de Man Booker Ödülü final listesinde yer aldı. Kurgu olmayan kitabı From the Beast to the Blonde: On Fairy Tales and Their Tellers, 1996'da Mitopedik Ödülü kazandı. No Go the Bogeyman: On Scaring, Lulling, and Making Mock 2000'de yayımlandı ve British Academy'nin Rose Mary Crawshay Ödülü'nü kazandı. The Leto Bundle (2001) ve Indigo (1992) yazarın diğer romanlarıdır.
