Roy F. Baumeister (doğum tarihi, 16 Mayıs, 1953) Florida State Üniversitesi’nde bir profesördür. Baumeister, benlik, sosyal dışlanma, benlik kaynakları tükenmesi, ait olma ihtiyacı, cinsellik, öz-kontrol, öz-saygı, kendine zarar veren davranışlar, saldırganlık, sorumluluk ve özgür irade alanında çalışmaları bulunan bir sosyal psikologtur. 500’den fazla makale yazmış, yaklaşık 30 kitap için yazarlık, yardımcı yazarlık ya da editörlük yapmıştır. Lisans derecesini, Princeton Üniversitesi’nden, yüksek lisans derecesini Duke Üniversitesi’nden, doktora derecesini ise 1978 yılında Princeton Üniversitesi’nden almıştır.
