Touraj Daryaee

Touraj Daryaee (d. 1967) İranlı İranolog ve tarihçidir. Kendisi şu anda Fars Çalışmaları ve Kültürü Maseeh Başkanı olarak görev yapmakta ve Kaliforniya Üniversitesi, Irvine'de Dr. Samuel M. Jordan Fars Araştırmaları Merkezi'nin direktörü olarak çalışmaktadır.

Kariyeri

Daryaee, ilk ve orta öğrenimini Tahran, İran ve Atina, Yunanistan'da tamamlamıştır. Daha sonra 1999 yılında Los Angeles Kaliforniya Üniversitesi'nde tarih alanında doktorasını tamamlamıştır. UCLA'da ders vermiş ve Oxford Üniversitesi'nde kıdemli araştırma görevlisi ve École pratique des hautes études'de asistan araştırmacı olarak görev yapmıştır. Antik Pers tarihi ve kültürü konusunda uzmandır.

Name-ye Iran-e Bastan, The International Journal of Ancient Iranian Studies, DABIR: Digital Ar dergisinin editörlüğü yanında Sasanilerin tarihi ve kültürü üzerine bir proje olan Sasanika Projesi'nin direktörüdür. En ünlü yayınları arasında Sasani Persleri: Bir İmparatorluğun Yükselişi ve Düşüşü ve Sasani İranı (MS 224-651): Geç Antik İmparatorluğun Portresi yer almaktadır. Ayrıca tarih öncesi dönemden modern tarihe kadar İran tarihi üzerine bir kitabın editörlüğünü yaptı.

Yayınları

Daryaee bir dizi tarihi yayının yazarıdır. Sasani Persleri: Bir İmparatorluğun Yükselişi ve Düşüşü adlı kitabı, 2010 yılında BRISMES ve Britanya-Kuveyt Dostluk Topluluğu Orta Doğu Araştırmaları Ödülü tarafından birçok ödüle layık görülmüştür.
