Şiirleri, İngiltere ve Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nde hayatı boyunca popüler oldu. Son şiirlerinden oluşan bir koleksiyon, eşi tarafından ölümünden kısa bir süre sonra yayımlandı.

Virginia Woolf 1933'te yayımladığı adlı eserinde Elizabeth Barrett ile Robert Browning'in aşklarını, Barrett'in köpeği Flush'ın gözünden anlatmıştır.
