Itzin, 20 Nisan 1948'de Washington, D.C., ABD'de doğdu. Amerikan Tiyatro Konservatuvarı (ACT) bünyesinde yetişti. 1979'da başladığı oyunculuk kariyerini 2022 yılındaki ölümüne kadar sürdürdü.
