Jean-Pierre Vigier (16 Ocak 1920 - 4 Mayıs 2004),fiziğin temelleri, özellikle kuantum fiziğinin stokastik yorumu üzerine yaptığı çalışmalarla tanınan bir Fransız teorik fizikçidir.

Eğitim ve Kariyer
Paris doğumlu olan Vigier, 1946'da Cenevre Üniversitesi'nden 'nın Operatörlerin Sonsuz Dizileri üzerine yaptığı bir çalışmayla matematik alanında doktorasını aldı. 1948'de Louis de Broglie'nin asistanlığına atandı ve 1962'de emekli olana kadar bu pozisyonda kaldı. Vigier, Paris'teki Pierre ve Marie Curie Üniversitesi'nde Yerçekimi Fiziği Bölümü'nde fahri profesör unvanı aldı. 300'den fazla bilimsel makale yazdı. Çok sayıda kitap ve konferans bildirisinin ortak yazarlığını ve editörlüğünü yaptı. Physics Letters dergisinin yayın kurulu üyelerindendi.
Vigier, Louis de Broglie ve David Bohm'un fikirlerine dayanan kuantum mekaniğinin stokastik yorumunu destekledi. Siyasi olarak Vigier, hayatı boyunca komünizmin aktif bir destekçisiydi. Vigier, Albert Einstein'ın asistanı olmak için ABD'ye davet edildi; ancak o sırada Vietnam ile ilgili siyasi tartışmaları nedeniyle Amerika Birleşik Devletleri Dışişleri Bakanlığı onun Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'ne girmesine izin vermedi.
Vigier 2004 yılında Paris'te öldü.
Aile
Vigier'in babası bir İngilizce profesörüydü. Bu nedenle Vigier ana dili olan Fransızca'nın yanında İngilizce'yi de çok akıcı konuşabiliyordu.[]
