Victor Twersky (1923 – 17 Kasım 1998), ışıktan radara, sonardan yeryüzündeki sismik dalgalara kadar radyasyon ile alâkalı her nev'i kuramın en önemli öncülerinden biri olarak bilinen ve bu anlanlarda 100'den fazla yayını bulunan Amerikalı fizikçi.

Hayâtı
1943'te City College of New York'tan lisans derecesi, 1948'de Columbia Üniversitesi'den Yüksek Lisans ve 1950'de de New York Üniversitesi'den doktora aldı. 1950-1953 yılları arasında Courant Enstitüsü Matematik Bilimleri'nde Araştırmacı; 1953-1966 yılları arasında Mountain View, California'daki Sylvania-GTE'nin Electronic Savunma Laboratuvarları'nda kıdemli bilim adamı ve kariyeri boyunca birçok defa Stanford Üniversitesi Matematik Bölümünde ziyaretçi öğretmen olarak çalıştı.
Akademik araştırma alanları
Twersky 1972-73 yıllarında, ve tanılayıcı uygulamalar konularında ve 1979-80 yıllarında ise saçılma teorisinin biyofizik uygulamaları alanlarında çalışmak üzere yaşamı boyunca İki kez Guggenheim bursiyeri olmaya hak kazandı.
1969-70 yıllarında İllinois Üniversitesi İleri Araştırmalar Merkezi'nde Yoğun Dağılımlar'da Çoklu-Saçılma amaçlı "Boyutsal Bağlılaşım" (spatial correlation) konusunda danışman olarak araştırmalar yürüttü.
İllinois Üniversitesi Şikago Yerleşkesi'nde Matematik, İstatistik ve Bilgisayar Bilimleri Bölümü'nde 1966-1990 yılları arasında Profesör olarak hizmet verdi. Burada uzun yıllar Uygulamalı Matematik Program Komitesi Başkanı olarak görev yaptı. 1990 yılının Aralık ayında İllinois Üniversitesi Şikago'dan emekli oldu.
Victor Twersky, İlmî tekâmüle yönelik Amerikan derneği, IEEE ve Amerika Optik Topluluğu'nun da Fellow üyesi idi.
Ölümü
17 Kasım 1998 tarihinde Los Altos Hills, California'da öldü. Her yıl anısına University of Illinois at Chicago tarafından bir Uygulamalı Matematik öğrencisine Victor Twersky Hatıra Bursu verilmektedir.
